About us

Saving Grace offers hope and transformation to young women through relationships, coaching, and opportunities that empower generational change—trusting God with the outcome.

At Saving Grace, “Grace” has the opportunity to heal from childhood trauma, cultivate healthy relationships, and break the cycle of poverty that has greatly influenced her life. She receives support tailored to her unique needs, including safe and stable housing, professional counseling, medical care, life skills training, education, steady employment, and lifelong mentorship. Many vital organizations offer short-term respite from the symptoms of poverty that “Grace” faces—but that’s not our calling. We don’t put a time limit on healing and forming healthy habits. We invest what it takes to empower “Grace” to alter the trajectory of her life, and create lasting generational change.

In the Saving Grace program, participants work through six phases. The Pink Shirt and Senior Seminar phases serve as bookends to our program. They function as transitional phases for “Grace'' as she first enters the program and finally prepares to embark on her journey of independence upon completion. The majority of the program takes place in the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior phases, where “Grace” masters valuable skills that build upon one another.

The Story of “Grace”

Saving Grace NWA founder Becky Shaffer was removed from her abusive home and placed into foster care at the age of 12. See how God has used her story to transform the lives of more than 250 girls who have experienced homelessness in Northwest Arkansas.
